Tom Gresham's Gun Talk adds KPRC in Houston, Texas
In the latest addition to a growing lineup, this Sunday "Tom Gresham's Gun Talk" begins airing on KPRC, a Clear Channel station in Houston, Texas. Arbitron lists Houston at the sixth largest radio market in the United States, with a "Metro 12" population of almost 4.5 million.
"Houston is a great market for "Gun Talk," said show creator and host, Tom Gresham. "First off, it's Texas, which is a great area for shooting and gun ownership. Whether it's hunting, competition, or even talking about self defense, the Houston market is perfect for the conversations we have on this show."
KPRC broadcast at 950AM with 5000 watts, covering a huge area taking in Galveston, Beaumont, and reaching as far west as Victoria. Making a change from a standard talk-format, KPRC is repositioning itself as "man station," with the name "Radio Mojo."
Current plans are for Gresham to appear on KRPC local shows to promote the addition of "Tom Gresham's Gun Talk" as well as traveling to Houston to broadcast Gun Talk from that location.
This Sunday, "Gun Talk" will be a remote broadcast from Traverse City, Michigan, live from Fieldsport, a high-end gun store. The following week, Tom takes the show to the largest shooting event, the Grand American in Sparta, Illinois, where he will broadcast the national show from the Beretta store on the firing line.
"Tom Gresham's Gun Talk" is heard across the country on approximately 50 radio stations, on XM satellite radio (channel 166), on Apple iTunes Store, live internet streaming, and web-based podcasts.
